Laurence Marot, who was called to the bar in 2001, has been a partner with Cabinet Farthouat Avocats since 1st January 2013.
She concentrates on litigation, notably in the fields of contract law, implementation of liabilities guarantees, shareholder disputes, executive liability and business law in general, both in France and internationally. She also deals with pre-litigation and represents French and foreign companies before French courts in post-acquisition cases and actions to obtain redress for infringements of competition rules.
Over the last ten years she has gained significant experience as a consulting lawyer in contract law and company law, in specific operations (notably equity operations, company alliances and supporting ailing companies) and routine management (notably drafting shareholder agreements, company takeovers and business start-ups), advising French and foreign companies on their commercial strategies in a wide range of sectors such as probiotics, motor parts, armaments, toys and broadcasting. She also represents foreign non-governmental charity organisations and works with Vincent Asselineau on lobbying activities.
Laurence Marot joined the firm in 2004 and became a partner in 2013. She was awarded a postgraduate diploma in EU and European law by Université Paris I – Sorbonne in 1997 and previously worked in Brussels with several lobbyist lawyers at La Giraudière Larroze & Associés for a group specialising in the industrial alcohol sector and in Paris at Vivien & Associés and D’Alverny-Demont & Associés.
She is a member of the Paris bar. A former student at the Lycée Français in New York, her working languages are French and English.
